Vivienne Westwood Men’s Spring 2017

Vivienne Westwood, who opened the runway show with a video message directed to President Obama asking to stop pursuing WikiLeaks’ Julian Assange, stretched the unisex concept to the max. It wasn’t actually surprising that she sent out men dressed both in suits — this season coming with boxy, roomy jackets and wide-leg pants — and in skirts, frocks and sequined tops.

After all, Westwood has focused on the over-the-top dandy for years. Extravagant, eccentric pieces, such as destroyed knits, abounded, but the lineup also included more commercially savvy, chic intarsia knits worn with patchwork pants and silk shirts paired with fluid sartorial pants.
